Fernando's Typica

This washed Typica lot has exclusively been processed for us. Due to its sensitivity for diseases and the low yield this varietal is vanishing from todays coffee farms. However when this plant grows in its natural habitat there's no fungi or decease danger; ergo agroforestry instead of agriculture. And that's exactly what Fernando has been doing for years now...

This lot is from El Retiro del Quisaya. A farm Fernando took over from his mom 2 crops ago. The place were the sustainable farming was born 4 generations ago.

Tasting this coffee reminds me of ripe dark fruits as black berries and plums with a complex red grape acidity and a caco finish.
