Description
These Chemex filters are suitable for use in combination with the coffeemaker 6 and 8-cup. Chemex is the brand for slow coffee makers. The brand was developed in 1941 by a German chemist, Dr. Peter Schlumbohm. This can also be seen in the form: the design resembles a 'decanter' that is widely used in chemistry. In 1944 this design was already chosen as one of the most beautiful designs in history and has been given a place in the Museum of Modern Art (Moma) in New York! Even today, the slow coffee maker still looks modern.

The slow coffee maker is a real trend at the moment. There is a revolution going on in coffee land. Why? The consumer is looking for high quality coffee. Similar to wine, the flavors that are expressed in the coffee are determined by the terroir, the processing method and the setting method. The flavors that arise as a result do not come into their own in espresso, but in slow setting methods, slow coffee.

The slow coffee maker of Chemex is very suitable for this. By using glass, all flavors come into their own. The glass is also heat-resistant, so water that has just been poured from the boil can be poured into it. The coffee is prepared in the authentic way. It is pure coffee with the spiciness you want, without bitter aftertaste or residue. The coffee is also perfectly usable in the preparation of iced coffee and desserts with a dash of coffee for the gourmets. Also interesting to know: coffee, brewed with these cafetières, can be kept in the fridge to be reheated later, while retaining taste.

How is coffee made with the slow coffee maker? Of course this technique starts with the grinding of coffee beans. After you have placed a corresponding filter in the funnel, put the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter, where you then let a little hot water flow. This ensures that the best that coffee has to offer is already optimally released. To sufficiently mix the coffee, pour water into the filter a second time, maximum up to the neck. The remaining water is then added to the mixture so that the coffee can draw evenly. Once the coffee is ready, remove the filter, pour out the coffee and start the ultimate taste experience!

When using in the dishwasher you have to remove the wooden collar and cord.
