Native Nacional cacao varieties grow on the hills of Santo domingo de las Tsachilas, at the Cedeño Aguilar family farm. The passion and care for cacao is reflected in an astonishing profile with intense floral notes and tropics fruits and low chocolaty taste.
In 2005, the Cedeño Aguilar family decided to convert their palm oil plantation into a sustainable cacao farm with 100% Arriba Nacional varieties. They are experts in organic farming, and have a unique processing centre for small-batch fermentation. The families' efforts are awared with the first certificate of denomination of protected origin "Cacao Nacional".
Complex and mild profile dominated by wild tropical flavours, floral notes, tropical fruits, fresh almonds, a vegetale undertone and banana in the finish. Remarkably low in chocolaty tones and acidity.
